Are you passionate about the future of the Nolichucky River and our outdoor heritage in Erwin and Unicoi County? Unicoi County's Economic Development board, in partnership with NORA and other community leaders, has launched a new public survey to gather your input on how we restore, protect, and improve this vital waterway.
Why Your Input Matters
NORA has championed outdoor adventure, youth empowerment, and river stewardship—bringing our community closer to nature and to each other. Now, as we plan the next phase of cleanup and restoration along the Nolichucky, we want you—our neighbors, paddlers, anglers, hikers, and river lovers—to help guide the priorities and direction of the work ahead.
What the Survey Covers
River health & clean‑up priorities: Tell us which sections of the river need attention: litter removal, bank stabilization, mussel protection, or something else.
Access & recreation: Let us know about your ideas for new access points, trail improvements, or recreational spaces.
Community values: Share what you love most about the Nolichucky—whether it’s the fishing, wildlife, scenic beauty, or the sense of community it fosters.

What Happens Next
The design team will analyze your responses and publish a summary of what the community cares about most. That information will shape future projects: where we focus cleanup efforts, how we improve access, and which improvement initiatives we take on together.
Join Us for the Long Haul
This survey isn't just about one project—it’s about building a shared vision for the Nolichucky for generations to come. Your participation today helps ensure the river remains a vibrant, healthy, and beloved resource for everyone.
