In the wake of Hurricane Helene, our community along the Nolichucky River came together in extraordinary ways—clearing debris, rebuilding lives, and proving that resilience runs as deep as the Nolichucky River Gorge itself. Over the past year, the Nolichucky Outdoor Recreation Association (NORA) has led cleanups, restoration efforts, and advocacy that have restored hope and stability to our river valley.

Now, our story is about to be told to the world.

A professional film crew from award winning production company, 2nd Act Films has been documenting the recovery and the people behind it. Their first round of filming captured the heartbreak and heroism of those early months after the storm. Thanks to the commitment of an anonymous angel donor, the filmmakers are already scheduled to return this fall for another round of interviews—one year later—to tell the next chapter of the Nolichucky’s story.
