About the event

Fly Fishing on the Frontier

Fly fishing has a long and rich tradition in America, dating back to the colonial era. Early enthusiasts included George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, who enjoyed fishing as both recreation and a way to connect with nature.

This program is designed for beginners, though experienced anglers are welcome to participate. The park will provide all necessary equipment. Participants should bring clothing that can get wet, including water shoes or wading boots with good traction, as we will be wading in shallow water. If you already own waders, bring them along in case of cooler weather.

A valid Tennessee fishing license is required for this program. A trout stamp is not necessary, as we will be targeting other species.

This program is open to ages 13 and older.
